Luisa Rivera is a London-based artist originally from Chile. She works primarily on paper with water-based media, exploring our relationship with the environment through multiple layers of interpretation. She draws on storytelling to create narratives that are inhabited predominantly by women and natural elements, covering themes such as ecology, feminism, and personal memory. After completing her Fine Arts degree (BFA) in Santiago, Chile, she pursued her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) at Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) in 2013, thanks to the support of the Fulbright scholarship and a FONDART grant (Chilean National Fund for the Development of Culture and the Arts). As part of her creative practice, Rivera also works in bookmaking, illustration and education.
/ Luisa Rivera es una artista chilena radicada en Londres. Trabaja principalmente sobre papel con pinturas a base de agua, explorando nuestra relación con el medioambiente a través de diversas capas de interpretación. Su obra hace uso de la narrativa para crear escenas habitadas principalmente por mujeres y elementos naturales, cubriendo temáticas como la ecología, el feminismo, y la memoria personal. Después de completar su grado en Bellas Artes (BFA) en Santiago, Chile, realiza el Máster en Bellas Artes (MFA) en el Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) en el año 2013 gracias al apoyo de la beca Fulbright y FONDART (Fondo Nacional para el Desarrollo Cultural y las Artes en Chile). Como parte de su práctica, Rivera también ilustra, desarrolla libro y enseña.
